Botanical Name: Boswellia neglecta
Origin: Ogaden, Ethiopia
Frankincense neglecta, or Boswellia neglecta resin, is wild harvested by Fair Trade practice from the Ogaden region in Ethiopia. It is from the same producer of our Ethiopian Frankincense neglecta essential oil. Aromatically similar, Boswellia neglecta resin has a dark, masculine scent that is earthy and musty, not too unlike the scent of leather. It’s as though the balsamic notes of vanilla and amber are mixed together with a refreshing yet spicy accord; there you have the scent of Frankincense neglecta. Some may even detect overtones of cumin. It’s quite complex, and utterly divine. Boswellia neglecta is known to some as black frankincense, a rare frankincense that is known for its deep, resinous scent and rich black color.
Please note we package resins by weight, not container size. Resin pieces vary in size, with most being as large as a walnut. We do not sort according to size and therefore, package a mixture of sizes. Due to the irregular natural sizes and shapes of resin the specific weight purchased may not completely fill our container used in packaging.
