Gingergrass is closely related to Palmarosa, Cymbopogon martini var. motia. From a growth standpoint Gingergrass spreads upwards of 9 feet tall with a cascading fountain of leaf blades while Palmarosa grows in an upright shorter stature. These two varieties are different in both growth and aroma.
Gingergrass essential oil lacks rosy notes present in Palmarosa and makes up for it with an array of lively green, citrus, slightly fruity, exotic sensual notes. Natural perfumers take note; Gingergrass brightens and uplifts fresh green note blends. You will find Gingergrass works extremely well in unisex and masculine scents.
Therapeutically, Gingergrass essential oil is a warming analgesic and anti-inflammatory. It has qualities that increase circulation and blood flow to an applied area making it ideal for massage oil blends targeting sore muscles and joint pain.
