Xanthoxylum essential oil is another wonder oil from high in the Himalayans of Nepal. Xanthoxylum armatum, syn Zanthoxylum, a bushy shrub between elevations of 1000 and 1200m bears fruits that are wildcrafted then sun dried before steam distillation.
Emotionally Xanthoxylum has a soothing scent to diffuse at bedtime or when kicking back to unwind from a stressful day. An exquisite oil that assists meditation and is very soothing to the nerves.
Himalayan healers use Xanthoxylum essential oil mainly for respiratory conditions and to improve vocal quality by stimulating and moisturizing the larynx. This makes it a most interesting oil in a gargle for singers, stage actors, narrators and public speakers. Anyone who uses their voice a lot might benefit using a gargle, see our recipe further down.
Several reputable professional aromatherapy sources give credit for therapeutic benefits including PMS and menstrual cramps when diluted with carrier oil and massaged on the abdomen and stomach. Because of the high linalool content this essential oil possesses anti-inflammatory benefits for swollen joints and muscle spasms. A wondrous oil to consider in massage blends!
This is a beautifully aromatic essential oil for natural perfume creations. Xanthoxylum adds the right touch of exotic spicy slightly fruity floral notes. Both alluring and sensual this oil blends well with our
Sandalwood Mysore for creating perfume with a captivating mystique in unisex blends. For an entrancing masculine scent consider blending with
