Distilled from roots of Valeriana officinalis, this oil is said to have relaxing and sedative properties that benefits insomnia and restlessness. Valerian Root essential oil is also an excellent antispasmodic for muscular cramps and relaxing muscles.

Aromatically, Valerian Root appears to have earned a reputation for an unpleasant smell some liken to dirty socks. Although sense of smell is subjective, to us this oil has a pungent sweet earthy aroma accentuated with a sour grape twang.

This is a strong aroma-therapeutic oil that should be blended with frugality!

Sublime with Roman Chamomile

Not unpleasant, but still a challenge. Initial scent offers green stem and balsamic aromas. Over time the root quality comes through reminiscent of potato shoots. Blending with other base fixatives like Vetiver and Frankincense carterii helps to balance the aromas. Roman Chamomile brings out sublime fruity apple middle-top notes.
