Lemon Thyme essential oil is a distinctive thyme in very limited oil production because it is primarily cultivated for culinary purposes.  Our Lemon Thyme essential oil comes from organic leaves artisan distilled in small batches in Provence, France. Lemon Thyme is quite simply a unique relaxing thyme oil that is pure herbaceous decadence to the senses.

Add Lemon Thyme in a sports massage blend to ease muscles and joints before or after exercise.  Its antiseptic properties excel in blends targeting acne.  One of the exceptional benefits of Lemon Thyme is said to be relieving the itch and irritation from insect stings and bites.  A fantastic essential oil to include in camping and hiking first aid kits!

Lemon Thyme is aromatically fresh and herbaceous with a mouthwatering delicious lemon aroma.  With a comforting and relaxing aroma it is well suited for diffusing at bedtime.  Consider blending with our Lavender Wild to diffuse or add to bath for ultra-relaxation. 

NOTE: Lemon Thyme essential oil is often mistakenly called Thyme ct citral with botanical reference to Thymus vulgaris ct citral.  Recent DNA analysis suggests that it is not a hybrid or cross, but a separate species of Thymus as was first claimed in 1811. At Lotus Garden Botanicals we believe accurate identification of raw botanical material paramount. The confusion of Lemon Thyme is likely due to the Citral (lemon) aroma that results from two terpenoids, geranial and neral. Citral references:  Jeanne Rose and Wiki article Citral.  Citral is considered antiviral.  Our  Lemon Thyme contains over 75% (Geranial+ Neral).

Contraindications: Citral is a potential sensitizer.  Tisserand and IFRA recommend maximum 0.6% in body oils and creams.
