Our Sweetgrass hydrosol is artisan distilled from a specific organic grown aromatic grass, Hierochloe odorata, whose Latin name means "holy grass and fragrant". The aroma of Sweetgrass hydrosol is nothing short of springtime dewy herbals captured in a bottle. You will enjoy its fresh and sweetly herbal aroma that is both calming and grounding. Sweetgrass is also known as Vanilla grass because of its coumarin content that gives a creamy vanilla-like aroma to certain botanics such as Tonka Bean.
Sweetgrass has a long standing history in Native American culture for cleansing and purifying the air much the same as White Sage. With its fresh and clean aroma and antimicrobial properties it is a wonderful hydrosol for room freshening and disinfecting, and in skin care formulations for its astringency and delightful fresh aroma.
