Scotchmint is a sterile hybrid produced from Mentha arvensis (Cornmint) and Mentha spicata (Spearmint). Other common names include Gingermint and Red Mint.
For anyone who loves minty fresh aromas Scotchmint gives the best of sweet mint with a piney back note from its Spearmint side. Scotchmint can only be cultivated using clones since it is a sterile hybrid. Because of scant aromatherapy information for this hybrid we reference uses found within
Cornmint and
Spearmint essential oils.
