The sweetness of juicy orange collides with tart and tangy twists in this Green Mandarin essential oil from Italy, also called Mediterranean Mandarin. Bright, refreshing, and one of the most calming citrus oils. An excellent choice for skin toners and cleansers with its astringent, antiseptic, antibacterial, antioxidant, and balancing properties. Cold pressed from the unripe fruit peel, Green Mandarin essential oil is considered one of the safest citrus essential oils for oily and acne prone skin, children, and elders.
Our Green Mandarin essential oil contains a high percent of limonene (79.41%) that provides antibacterial, antiviral and expectorant qualities. With regard to phototoxicity, there appears to be confusion among several varieties of 'Green Mandarin' with some sources indicating yes and others no. Our most trusted source, Robert Tisserand (Essential Oil Safety), indicates Mandarin 'leaf' essential oil (Citrus reticulata blanco) is phototoxic and the oil cold pressed from the 'peel' is not. We found no delineation of information between Green, Yellow and Red Mandarin. NAHA also indicates 'Mandarin' is not phototoxic, as does Aromahead Institute and Aromaweb. Source 1Source 2Source 3
