Pristine climate conditions in Italy produce a bold zesty aroma.  Aromatically, our Italian type expresses a bright clear crisp tart fresh lemon zest smell.   Varying growing regions and climates result in slightly different essential oil aromas and percentages of volatile compounds.  For a bold mouthwatering aroma this one from Italy is spectacular.

Lemon is an aroma-therapeutic essential oil with strong germicidal and astringent properties effective with oily skin and hair.  Often incorporated into skincare products targeting these conditions but use with caution in skin products intended for wearing in the sunlight.  Cold pressed Lemon essential oil is phototoxic and should not be used on the skin prior to sunlight exposure. 

Because of the fresh clean aroma of Lemon it is highly recommended for use in natural household cleaning solutions because of strong germicidal effects. Lemon is also one of the best essential oils to eliminate strong household odors such as from cooking fish or seafood.
