This hydrosol from lavender flowers organic grown and artisan distilled in France is an excellent specimen joining our lineup of premium Lavender hydrosols. Although not wildcrafted this type of Lavender is referred to as "Wild" because it is believed to be a true type (non-hybrid) of Lavender classified as Lavandula angustifolia syn Lavandula vera DC distinguished by deep dark indigo blue flowers. Some say this is the original English Lavender although it grows quite well in France and other similar temperate locations.
With over 47 different species in the genus Lavandula there are chemical profile differences that lend to the uniqueness of aroma with some types being sweeter while others more camphoraceous, herbaceous, floral, or in some cases a combination of these aromatic attributes in varying degrees of dominance. This Lavender Wild hydrosol exhibits a greater degree of sweet and floral notes than our other types of Lavender hydrosols.
