This is a convenient alternative to our pure Labdanum Absolute. A generous 20% pre-mixed in clear odorless Fractionated Coconut Oil gives you a lot of room to work with. This pre-mixed dilution is completely mobile, requires no warming and ready to use. To compare, our 15 mL of 20% is twice the aromatic strength as 30 mL at 10%.
Our pure Labdanum Absolute is a thick viscous substance that can not be poured from the bottle at room temperature or below. This absolute must be liquefied first using the warm water bath method. Once mixed with other oils it remains mobile. If you prefer to work with the pure absolute see our Labdanum Absolute.
Pre-mixed dilutions NOT recommended for use in oil diffusers or diffusers.
Several fragrant oils originate from Rock Rose, Cistus ladanifer. Labdanum Absolute is made from resin whereas Cistus essential oil is steam distilled flowers, leaves, and sometimes branches. When the resin is steam or hydro-distilled, rather than solvent extracted as in the case with this Labdanum Absolute, the result is Labdanum essential oil. An easy way to remember the difference is Labdanum is from resin, Cistus is from vegetation.
Labdanum Absolute is a very thick viscous substance and can not be poured from the bottle at room temperature or below. It must first be liquefied. Our 20% Labdanum Absolute blended into odorless Fractionated Coconut Oil gives you convenience and ease of use with no need to liquefy. See also our pure Labdanum Absolute if you prefer full strength. See also our Cistus (Rock Rose) Essential Oil for aromatherapy use.
Because of the different extraction methods and plant parts used (vegetative or resin) the choice for aromatherapy use is Cistus (Rock Rose) Essential Oil. For perfumery, meditation, and scenting home fragrance items such as candles Labdanum Absolute provides a remarkably rich, tenacious, sweet, warm, balsamic amber-like aroma. The aromatic quality of the absolute is first choice among perfumers.
Aromatherapy use: Refer to Cistus Essential Oil
