Javanese Turmeric Co2 Select, also known as Javanese Ginger or Temulawak, is extracted from dried Curcuma xanthorrhiza rhizomes (roots) organically grown in Java, Indonesia. The producer advises that Javanese Turmeric Co2 is a beneficial ingredient in skin care formulations due to its ability to soothe dry, irritated or chapped skin. Skin conditions of acne, eczema, and psoriasis benefit from the soothing and antimicrobial activity of Javanese Turmeric Co2. It may also be used in oral care products because of the antimicrobial efficacy especially against streptococcus mutans.
Because this Javanese Turmeric Co2 Select extract contains 95% essential oil with volatile constituents consisting of ar-curcumene, ß-curcumene and xanthorrhizol (Hydroxy-ar-Curcumene), it may be used in anti-inflammatory blends for muscular and joint aches and pains such as arthritic conditions.

Java
I received a sample of Javanese Turmeric and liked it very much. I don't particularly like Turmeric EO, but this CO2 from Java is different. It is spicy, almost floral-fruity, without the disagreeable earthiness of regular Turmeric EO.

A surprisingly sweet aroma
I'm big into turmeric for its pain-relieving benefits. I hadn't tried Javanese turmeric before and bought a sample recently. I was amazed at how lovely the aroma is, like a spicy, cedar, floral blend. Now, that said, at first sniff it reminded a little me of fresh kitty litter--which I don't mind! Iit's the un-fresh kitty litter that I not crazy about.) Plus, it works quite well for alleviating various types of pain, probably equal to the Curcuma longa Turmeric essential oil I've bought from LG.
