Important in aromatherapy for respiratory conditions, we only offer the decumbens variety of organic Hyssop because it is gentle and does not contain potentially toxic ketones (pinocamphone) found in common Hyssop officinalis. Hyssop decumbens is a potent antiviral essential oil that has also been shown effective with cold sores and respiratory conditions.
The aroma of Hyssop decumbens is pleasant and sweetly camphoraceous with a slight reminiscent of lavender and light minty smell.
Although Hyssop decumbens is primarily a respiratory essential oil it can also help combat nervous jitters and reinforce relaxation. For stress, anxiety or nervousness you may find, as we have, diffusing Hyssop decumbens in concert with a few drops of
Clary Sage,
Lavender High Altitude and
Tangerine to be relaxing and comforting.
