Used in massage therapy as a wonder oil on strained muscles, Helichrysum is a powerful addition to massage blends for sports related muscular aches and pains, arthritis and rheumatism. Helichrysum is also remarkably beneficial with skin conditions of dermatitis, eczema, rosacea, acne, cuts/scrapes, burns, wounds and is highly regarded in anti-aging formulations.
Helichrysum essential oil is a powerhouse! The major components in Helichrysum italicum are alpha pinene, neryl acetate, gamma-curcumene, and di-ketones called italidiones. This Helichrysum has a high level of neryl acetate (35.97%) and italidiones.
- Italidiones are thought to be potent aids in stimulating tissue regeneration. Italidiones are found in no other essential oil and are unique to Helichrysum italicum.
- Neryl acetate gives distinct, relaxing effects that may reduce tension of the tissues in the area of trauma or injury.
- gamma-curcumene is a powerful anti-inflammatory.
"The pain-reducing, analgesic, and regenerative effect of everlasting (Helichrysum) is unique: If applied in time, it prevents hemorrhaging. It is also very effective for joint pain..." - Dr. Kurt Schnaubelt,
Advanced Aromatherapy.
Blend Helichrysum with Foraha and Rose Hip carrier oil to care for wounds, scars or wrinkles. Shirley Price says blending with Evening Primrose can accelerate healing of bed sores and return elasticity to thin aged skin.
