The aroma of this hexane-free extracted Frangipani is nothing short of a Ménage à trois of floral, fruity, slightly spicy notes with an almost culinary sweetness. Frangipani is an exotic floral possessing a deeply intense aroma that is luscious, floral, spicy, somewhat fruity, and sweet, with a nuance of apricot.
It's been a long wait, but finally, during my recent visit to Thailand, the producer of our beautiful Blue Lotus absolute presented me with a sample of his hexane-free Frangipani absolute that took me back aromatically to a Frangipani I once stocked years ago. The aroma of this specimen of Frangipani, although very similar, is not exact but no two productions ever are. It is, however, the most exquisite I've come across in many years. Of all the samples I've gone through over the years none lived up to my expectations, but this hexane free absolute blew me away. The hexane free extraction of Frangipani renders a clear and profound concentrated aroma. The beginnings of this absolute are fresh Plumeria alba flowers grown in Thailand, morning harvested and immediately processed. Any flower with brown or wilted edges is culled.
All absolutes are extremely concentrated, with Frangipani Absolute being no exception. Frangipani absolute should not be evaluated in its absolute state unless you are accustomed to the undiluted aroma. This is true for any absolute, really. We strongly recommend that those inexperienced with absolutes be evaluated only after dilution. Otherwise, the complexity of the fragrance, especially the rare and exotic notes, will become lost in a state of confusion to those with untrained olfactory senses. This is particularly true with Frangipani.
Frangipani is almost exclusively used in the high-end designer perfume industry due to its unique aroma that is captivating, alluring, and sensuously euphoric possessing reputed aphrodisiac qualities. Properly diluted, Frangipani Absolute can be used in candle and soap making quite successfully, along with home fragrance items.
The reputed properties of Frangipani consist of its innate ability to calm, soothe, and induce pleasure (aphrodisiac), although it also has antioxidant skin refreshing properties and is used in night creams, lotions, and an array of skin and body care products.
