Cypress hydrosol is produced from branches of Cupressus sempervirens and is a cleansing, detoxifying, and very diuretic hydrosol for eliminating water retention in tissues and joints. Suzanne Caty writes about the tightening effect on tissue along with uses for some acneic conditions, thread veins, and couperose skin. Cypress is a hydrosol for the venous system and is said to improve circulation. For varicose veins use Cypress hydrosol in a compress.
With its natural green coniferous aroma and astringent properties Cypress hydrosol is excellent for men as an after shave facial toner. Considered a styptic it can help stop bleeding from any minor cuts from shaving.
Because of the diuretic and detoxifying effects of Cypress hydrosol it should be avoided in the first trimester of pregnancy and with conditions of kidney or renal disease.
