Our new Cardamom essential oil comes from organic seeds grown in Guatemala and expert artisan extracted by hydrodiffusion in USA. This phenomenal specimen of Cardamom is truly a connoisseur’s delight with dynamic, bright and vibrant profound sweet warm spicy aromatic notes.
Hydodiffusion rather than steam distillation was selected to produce this premium Cardamom oil whereby steam at atmospheric pressure passes through the seeds from top of the extraction chamber. This process is less harsh than steam distillation and has captured the complete orchestra of Cardamom aromatic notes and volatile constituents with 38 identified in the GC/MS analysis. High in 1,8-Cineole (36.77%) so should not, according to Robert Tisserand and other aromatherapy experts, be used with infants or children.
We are over the moon with this premium Cardamom and highly recommend it to natural perfumers. Emotionally elevating, rejuvenating, invigorating, refreshing and inspiring all rolled into one! This premium quality oil blends particularly well with Frankincense sacra, our Vintage 2006 Patchouli, and most all citrus and conifer oils. Because this hydrodiffused Cardamom is so strongly aromatic we suggest blending minute amounts first.
Being high in 1,8-Cineole this hydrodiffused Cardamom comes highly recommended for relieving congestion in the respiratory system. As a digestive aid applying a compress across the abdomen is reportedly beneficial for all types of gastric distress including gas, nausea, and diarrhea.
Cardamom can also be used as a bath oil and is especially good in winter for colds and chills or massaged onto the stomach and upper body when blended with a carrier oil
