The bergaptene content in this organically grown and cold pressed Bergamot which causes photosensitivity has been removed by further vacuum distillation allowing this essential oil of Bergamot to be used in a host of body care formulations without concern for phototoxicity. This Bergamot oil is also known as Bergamot FCF. Bergaptene is a furocoumarin, thus FCF (Furocoumarin Free) is used interchangeably with the designation bergaptene free.
Bergamot essential oil has an uplifting aroma. In aromatherapy bergamot essential oil is excellent for breathing difficulties, antiseptic for wounds, abscesses, mouth infections and herpes. Bergamot is used to stable the emotions, is uplifting and balancing, helping to alleviate anxiety, depression, fear or listlessness and encourages a restful nights sleep. In creams or massage blends bergamot is good for oily skin and well used to reduce acne and eczema.
Use Bergamot essential oil in a warmer to disperse unwanted odors or make a wonderful room spray in times of illness or depression, cleansing, deodorizing, and for keeping insects away.
