It is highly uncommon to find a pure extraction of Amla oil, also known as Indian gooseberry. Searching for organically cultivated alma berries proved quite difficult in a sea of conventionally grown crops ridden with pesticides and unsustainable farming practices. Unlike most Amla oils on the market that have been macerated and infused with other oils (like sesame), our organic Amla oil is 100% pure. Only the first (virgin) cold pressing of Alma berry seeds is used in this highly coveted oil. The oil is then filtered to remove debris, resulting in a light golden oil displaying a faintly sweet and fruity aroma complemented by a hint of woody undertones. As with all oils, color, and viscosity can vary from batch to batch. Our previous stock had a more yellow color than this new stock, although the constituents remain intact with little variance.
With the Amla berry being one of the highest doses of antioxidants found in nature (3 x s the amount of Açaí), the benefits of Amla are plenty.
